Navori Labs adds SOC 2 compliance to QL Digital Signage Software
In the fall of 2022, we began a SOC2 certification process, the first stage was validated at the end of April 2023. This process required us to address 1280 tasks in order to meet the highest standard of quality and security, for the software we market, our customer service processes and our internal infrastructure.
This new operating scheme involves an increase in production costs but provides customers with a guarantee of quality, safety and security.
It is with great pleasure that we announce Navori’s successful achievement of compliance with SOC 2 , a widely recognized and esteemed accreditation in the realm of information security. This significant milestone marks a crucial step forward on our information security roadmap.
About SOC 2 compliance
In accordance with the standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the completion of a SOC 2 audit necessitates the involvement of an independent third-party auditor. This auditor is responsible for evaluating the extent to which the systems and processes of a cloud-based service provider align with the five trust principles of SOC, collectively known as Trust Services Criteria (TSC). These principles encompass Security, Privacy, Confidentiality, Processing Integrity, and Availability.
What distinguishes SOC 2 from other security certifications is its flexibility, allowing each business to tailor the implementation of the SOC 2 framework to suit their specific objectives and operational requirements. Unlike a prescriptive checklist of controls, processes, or tools, the auditor’s assessment focuses on the effectiveness of a business’s implementation of controls that are relevant to the chosen TSC criteria. The auditor provides their expert opinion on the overall effectiveness of:
- The design of the company’s security program (SOC 2 Type 1).
- The execution of the program over a defined period of time (SOC 2 Type 2).
Subsequently, the auditor consolidates their opinions and findings into a comprehensive report known as the SOC report. This report is tailored to each individual business and serves as a means to provide customers with assurance regarding the measures taken to safeguard their data.
